Ray is a native of Pensacola, FL and Sharon is a native of Farmville, VA. Ray and Sharon both met while serving in the Armed Forces. They are the parents of three children.

Ray and Sharon McQueen are the founders and pastors of Family Life Christian Church International. While in the United States Air Force, Ray was assigned to a remote location off the Indian Ocean. It was there that the Lord spoke to his heart to start a ministry in the Central Virginia Area. Lynchburg became the focal point, which the Lord spoke to Ray about starting a church. On Saturday, July 26, 1997 FLCCI was birthed out of a citywide crusade, in the Greenfield Apartments, in which 42 souls were saved by the power of God.
